Südwolle Group, the spinner of pure wool and wool blend worsted yarns, has launched a number of new products within its outdoor and functional yarns collection “Yarn in Motion.” The yarns for the circular knitting sector are on show at the current Outdoor Retailer in Denver and will also be presented at the upcoming Performance Days (28th/29th Nov) and ISPO (3rd-6th Feb) in Munich.

This season’s focus for Yarn in Motion is on biodegradable products, “Just like ants, which are an essential part of nature’s ecosystem and contribute to biodegradation by literally “shifting the earth,” also Merino blended yarns are an ecological solution for all those who are looking for materials that will not add to microplastic pollution,” the company says. As well as Sargassi in a count of Nm 52/1 that combines 80 per cent Merino wool (21,5μ Naturetexx Plasma treated) with 20 per cent biodegradable polyamide, customers can choose from a wide range of other yarn qualities, which are fully biodegradable and renewable such as: Merino wool – Treated & untreated – Nm 9/1 – Nm 120/1, Merino wool & hemp – Nm 48/1 – Nm 60/1, Merino wool & Lenzing Lyocell (Tencel) – Nm 36/1 – Nm 80/1, Merino wool & Lenzing Modal – Nm 40/1 – Nm 80/1, Merino wool & biodegradable polyamide Amni Soul Eco – Nm 30/1 – Nm 52/1, Merino wool & biodegradable polyamide filament Betaspun – Nm 60/1 – Nm 80/1.
